Fitted external Tool Tube

I fitted an external Tool Tube to allow me to carry a useful set of tools.

I got the tube from Mozza who posts over on UKGSER – he’d bought a job-lot and was selling them here.  Fitting it was more of a faff than I’d hoped – surprisingly there is no obvious place to mount it on the frame.  I ended up fabricating a couple of brackets and hanging it from the left-hand pannier rail.  It’s nice and solid, but I’m not completely happy with the way it fits so ( being anal ) I’ll remount it at some point.  Also, I haven’t tried fitting the pannier, but I doubt very much that it’ll fit – but that’s no problem for me – I never use panniers anymore.

I’m pleased with it.  Plenty of room for all the tools you could possibly need on the road, and doesn’t look out-of-place on the bike either.  By the way – if you get one and want to get rid of the yellow graphics – use a dab of Nitromors on an old rag.  You need to be quick though – the paint comes off immediately and you need to wash the evil Nitromors off the plastic before it eats into it!
