About

My dad, like his father before him, always had bikes. I have very early memories of a Triumph Tiger Cub sitting in the back garden, and was often ferried around in my teens on the back of a Honda 250 ‘Super Dream’ or the BMW R100/7 which my dad eventually handed over to me, and which I still own.

I got my own first bike at the tender age of 14 ( a Yamaha DT175, which I used to ride around either the local wastegrounds, or the back garden! ). Then I had a break of about 10 years or so before finally taking my test and going ‘legit’. Since then I’ve ridden constantly, bikes have been my only form of transport, plus I love to tour to far flung and exotic destinations. I’ve had a few different bikes including the 77′ BMW R100/7, a Vespa, a couple of BMW R1150GS’s (one of which took me all around Central Asia and over the Pamir Highway), a Suzuki DR350SE ( which got me to the Arctic in winter ) and currently my Triumph Tiger 955i. I also played with various other bikes including a BMW K100RS and a Honda CB750K7.

I’m always in the middle of going somewhere or doing something or other with one of my bikes, so this blog will be my random jottings on my favourite subject.
