Norway is on average 2-3 times more expensive than the UK and though there is good value to be had, it’s few and far between and even the ubiquitous (but delicious) hotdogs and coffee from the garages could cost you over £12 for 2 people!
Don’t believe anyone if they tell you it’s just beer and wine that’s expensive – everything is! The only thing that’s comparable is accommodation and fuel from what we could see. A Burger King Whopper will cost you about £6 and the most we paid for a pint of beer was £8 though £5-6 was the average!
Food
The way to combat this extraordinary expense is to prepare before you leave the UK. We bought a range of packet soups and pasta dishes alongside Pot Noodles and instant snack foods. (more…)
